Microsoft has officially released Windows 10 May Update for the public. Also known as version , the update has been available to Windows Insiders in the Slow and Release Preview rings for quite a few weeks. The Windows maker had said in April that the May Update will remain in the Release Preview ring for an increased amount of time to detect any issues before broader deployment.
The company has been trying to make up for the disaster that was the last Windows 10 October Update. However, with Windows 10 May Update, Microsoft didn't only delay the public release but is also introducing controls to help users avoid surprise upgrades to the latest version. Ask a new question. I decided to do the upgrade to version today. In Windows Update under Settings, I clicked on Download and Install, forgetting that this usually takes a long time to download and install. Under Windows Update, it shows Error Encountered - We could not complete the install because an update service was shutting down. I do not want to retry to download it. Is there any way I can stop this from running again? Was this reply helpful?
